It’s funny what men have in their shoe closets compared to women, for instance if you looked into my closet you would find a similarity with Imelda Marcos as you have probably guessed I have a little bit of a shoe fettish. I can go window shopping and drool in front of my favorite shoe shop for hours on end, and you are probably wondering why I am on the outside of the shop looking in ..the reason is that I am banned (by my husband) from buying anymore shoes since the last credit card bill arrived.
You see, I thought that I would run out and pick up the credit card bill before hubby care home but he beat me to it, when he found the few shoe purchases that I had made on the bill (11 pair of shoes in total) he went pale and then he took my hand to lead me to the closet and open the door and pointed out that there was not enough room to store the shoes and pointed out that I had more shoes than the actual shop I purchased them from! I promised I would let the credit card recover from the melt down for at least another month anyway.
Hubby led me to his side of the closet where there were exactly 4 pairs of shoes occupying the space, his favorite boat shoes, runners, work shoes and his flip flops. Flip flops are called something different depending on where you live. In Australia they are called thongs and they are made of rubber or leather, New Zealand call flip flops, jandals. For me looking at the space in the closet I was thinking after my shoe ban perhaps I could take over some of my husbands closet space!
Really, I can’t think how you would get by in life with only four pairs of shoes, but I have been reassured that four pairs is more than enough and “how many pairs of shoes can you wear at any one time?” says the husband. Hubby likes to get home from work and slip on his flip flops and go out into the garden, when going having people over he will dress up his act and get the boat shoes on. Obviously work shoes are work shoes and runners are just that when he has been inspired to do a little bit of exercise. Flip flops are comfortable I have to admit, perhaps I should have a scout around the closet and see where I put mine or I might have to go out and buy another pair!
