Who wears men’s crew socks? Obviously men but why would you consider these strange looking socks? I really don’t think anyone really needs to be sold on the benefits of wearing men’s boat shoes there have been a lot of people that have sung the praises of the most popular and comfortable casual shoes out and the fact that they are worn by people from young to the not so young.
Then to go with the boat shoes comes men’s crew socks that will sit on your foot snugly but the top of the sock would only come to the rim of the shoes. I have an older male in the family that is always against change and the look on his face as he was peering over my shoulder looking over the catalog that was opened in front of me he said “you will never get me into a pair of those”. But to me never is a long time.
I went back to reading the catalog and I was interested to know why people buy the socks it is for a few reasons one of them being is to keep your feet dry they purchase cotton socks as they are the most absorbent. There are either the really thin socks that apparently you don’t even know you are wearing them of the socks that have like a padded sole that gives you more cushioning for more comfort along with the added benefit of soaking up sweat on your feet to keep your toes drier and to protect feet against fungal infection.
For those that know someone that has boat shoes and wears them constantly after a period of time no matter how much you air them, spray them or leave them outside to dry you will get to the stage that they absolutely pong! In frustration you look for inner soles in combination with all of the things that you have done above … all this in vain and nothing works at all. Trust me I know.
The older male in my family asked me to pick up a new pair of his favorite brand of boat shoes and when I walked into the shop beside the shoes were a large stand men’s crew socks. After leaving home with the smelly shoes looking back at me from outside on the verandah where they were airing it took me know time at all to decide to buy my male a pair of crew socks to give his new boat shoes half a chance to not be smelly!
When my male came home he saw the shoebox containing the new shoes and he then spied the cut down crew socks that he gingerly unwrapped. He put them on with encouragement and he responded by saying “I will never get used to these socks.” He complained he felt that the socks felt like they were falling down all the time, after reassurance that the socks weren’t being gobbled up the shoes and a few more wears of the socks he was sold! The socks he fought me for were now being worn with runners.
One of the best things though is the shoes did not smell at all! That was the biggest pay off for me to not to nearly pass out and heave when my male took of his shoes off after wearing them all day. I will sing the praise of crew socks now to anyone that wants to hear. They look great, they are comfortable and they keep toes and feet dry, this all equals non-smelly feet.
